Year 2008 Term 3 Week 6 Day 2 (29 July): Long time neh talk cock

All right... Today is "happy" day... thanks to DK & Fight's starring feats in econs odyssey, we got... THIS!!!

Food hamper!!! And since the winners of it are C-rep and company, we decided to be a bit lame and write down what was inside. So here it goes:

1) 24 Ferrero Rochers
2) 20 packets of Bin Bin rice crackers (Spicy seaweed flavour, 135g)
3) Jigs corn stix (hot curry flavour)
4) Roller coaster (1 of the few things in the hamper that i never tasted)
5) Merci Petit (or melted chocolate, must have been cos we left it in the sun during swimming, anyway all you need to enjoy it is to untwist the sides, put the whole thing into your mouth then pull the wrapper out while your teeth keep the chocolate inside)
6) Twisties (totally tomato flavour, 70g)
7) More twisties (original cheese flavour, 70g)
8) Even more twisties (BBQ curry flavour, 135g)
9) 12 times 3 Oreo double delights
10) 10 packets of cornitos
11) Ruffles large pack (184.2g)
12) Mamee Rae sticks (10 packets that is, but didn't taste too nice to me, so since the seniors wanted us to share with 6H, all of it went there, HAHA, sorry 6H)

Joel must be eyeing us in envy from Korea... sorry Joel, all junk food...

Stupid swimming. Ended up with bad cramps in 3 parts of me leggies, now my right calf hurts like shit=( And not so surprisingly, they all came after that water-treading rubbish... and freestyle... was just... sigh...

ME: Teacher, cannot swim freestyle, can breaststroke or not?
TEACHER: Cannot, must have 4 laps freestyle.
ME: Teacher, seriously cannot, will die 1, all breaststroke can or not?
TEACHER: Lidat will fail leh...
ME: Fail got what consequences?
TEACHER: No consequences.
ME: Ok teacher you mark me fail, I go swim breaststroke now...

And so, it was 325 metres of breaststroke, 50 metres of disastrous freestyle, and 25 metres of even more disastrous backstroke...

Before I forget, my last memories of the SIMC team trophy...

A very heavy trophy...

And just to niao a bit...

"Dear H2 Chemistry students,

The alkanes lecture will be conducted this Thur (31 July) and next
Mon (4 Aug)."

MUHAHAHAHAHAHA WOLS WOLS WOLS...

A Follow-up to the Awards

It is odd, but it seems as though the blogging by Ms Bunny Tan seems to focus more on me rather than the actual event itself o.0... and I think that CCA remark is a snide remark with reference to Jon Lee and co.?

Anyways, some quotable quotes (pardon any miswording, misphrasing or stuff like that):
"D for ... D for ... whatever" - someone refering to row D
"A Mui Suan radical and a Jeremy Lim radical react to form a Jeremui compound..." - Jonathan Lee, refering to a certain scandal (or is it?)
"Jerem... (pause) Jerem... (pause) Jeremuisuan" - Jon Lee again, attempting to call out to Bunny Tan
"Aren't you'll two always together?" - Xin Rong, wondering why Jia Guang hasn't seen me in a blazer before (eurgh, 讲得有点难听hor :/)

And...some comments:
The event was, well, kinda 'stoney', and a *certain* group of ppl were being rather noisy. Most amusing was that the ppl who filled in the feedback forms had to have their photos taken! xD The food provided there was good, and I kinda stuffed myself a little; but I found someone who stuffed significantly more - and I was well rather surprised at who it was o.0

Anyways, I would also like to say that I no longer wish to be whatever 'a/c-rep'; its well just kinda silly and I'm kinda getting sick of crapping and stuff like that. I will however, still take over the stand-in Chem/Crapbook rep position in the C-rep's absence.

And...it appears that Joel had just flown off for Korea this morning, whilst Langston, Jian Hua and Jeremy will be returning shortly. And I think a certain *someone* will be very excited...xD

econs odyssey + A*STAR JC science award ++++

Econs odyssey: Congrats to our C-rep and A/C-rep!!!! haha, combined average for econs subpass still can win, really very pro!! and we didnt disappoint ms how. her class won econs odyssey just like before.

A*STAR JC Science Award.. spent the entire day at biopolis. had a 4/1 (NYGH) mini gathering there as well. most of us were chatting away.. (mugging/doing tutorial occasionally). the smtp-ers were crapping all the way.. digging up scandals etc. jonathan lee was using free radical substitution as an analogy for a certain scandal..
C-rep asked me to take photos of A/C-rep.. so here's the photos!

sorry for the poor quality.. bad lighting in the LT. anyway, the above photos show interaction between 6H and 6K :) zhe wei and xin rong were playing chess in the row behind us initially... somehow, dunno when, the two of them migrated to the empty rows behind and started mugging together.. (maybe they were discussing impt cca stuff that no outsiders can know of...)

haha oh well. heard that those going cambridge will be taking math test there :( probably taking it earlier than u all in singapore.. sigh. no time to study math in sg... hee hee thankfully i am going for math camp.. learning DE there as well. hope that serves as preparation for the test.. doubt it'll be useful though.

all right..have a gd rest over the weekend!! study hard for coming physics test!

The good and bad things happening to the C-rep

Long time no blog... Bad things 1st...

Idiotic, announcements have been pushed back again and again and AGAIN... SIMC was postponed from 30 June to 7 July to 14 July to 21 July and it's still not announced yet, and the same goes for bridge... All sorts of trouble for poor me who has to wake up extra early just to make it on time, and then I find that I came early for nothing...

And the blasted worksheets and notes... If you 6Kers haven't read my email about it yet, I've been getting all kinds of stuff about extra notes when no one else seems to be missing 1 and missing notes when i don't have extra... Don't want to and don't feel like bribing the CT rep to force the class to conform to rules about the most trivial things, but this is seriously turning into a big mess...

So maybe next time, we should pay more to the photocopy shop for them to print everybody's names on each set of notes, so that I will know exactly who have taken their set and who have not... Any better ideas? And don't tell me to go around giving out to everyone, cos with 7-10 people missing in class, I don't know whoz collecting for who, and sometimes if the "collector" is absent as well, it's gonna be a big mess... By the way, let me stress that I still have 1 set of Chem SPA skill C and D notes with me, and I'm very sure our overseas-for-damn-long friend Shizhi already has someone who collected for him, so whoever wants to fail SPA please just let me keep it until term 4 week 1 12 noon...

Good things... not a lot these days actually, considering all the shit I've had to face from er, "not doing" tutorials... Nevertheless... shall keep it short, so I forgot that today was thursday and so I didn't bring graph theory notes today, but prof koh gave out a new set, I didn't bring my Physics O notes either, but the trainer (let's call him Basu from now on, it sounds really nice) was sick! Lucky escapes... Must start some sort of a "I love Basu" Fan Club next time...

All right, it's getting "early", shall talk about Joel's number line next time...

PHYSICS SPA IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha gd luck to those doing it nxt week.

funny things always happen in sch. i have with me now the envelope that will be sent to me (my parents) in the next few days.. still think that mailing progress reports home is a waste of paper, time, $$ and effort. lol.. oh well, i guess the sch is making effort to ensure that our parents get our progress report..

tmr halfday.. pseudo-halfday for me, yongquan and zhe wei.. gotta go biopolis..(and most likely slack throughout the ceremony) anyway, the thought of $$ entering my pocket tmr is more than enough to make up the no. of hours i'll spend stoning there tmr

$100 into class fund tmr :) oh, thanks yongquan and zhi hui for the chocolates!!!

all right, jia you for physics test on monday!!! to jian hua, langston and jeremy, have fun studying on the plane :)

The things that are said from a com room

Mindless reminder:

School tomorrow! Sleep early! Wake up early! Don't be late!

Best of all, I won't have to be there! (Yay I can finally exercise my equal, inherent, inalienable and long-deserved right to 8h of sleep)...

Regards,
A voice from a faraway land

How to write "K"

All right... Since SD's "side-kick"/wife/fiancee/bunny/whatever insists...

HOW TO WRITE CAPITAL "K"

Take note of the parallel lines and right angles...

And since I'm already here... might as well just... do it...

3 days before SD leaves...

1 day before SD leaves... here we see Newton's Universal Law of Gravitation in practice... the higher the mutual attraction, the smaller the "intermolecular distance"...

And now it's confirmed that he's been blogging during lectures using Joel's little applet... caught on camera eh? How naughty of you JL...

Lastly, something interesting:
SMTP: Science & Maths Talent Programme
PTMS: Punny-bunny Tan Mui Suan

Btw "punny" was provided by the girl whose Zhi Hui is coming back er, soon...

Sigh back to econs...

Jackie

:)

hello everyone!!!

ok, i shall post since no one has posted.. (actually our Supreme Dictator has one post under drafts...he wrote one haiku.)

so our Supreme Dictator is in LOVELY KOREA now.. eating kimchi...

anyway, lots of funny stuff happened last week which DK does not want to blog abt.

Chem lab/tutorial: after chem clock, mrs tham went through chem equilibrium tutorial. to her dismay (horror), she found out that some 6K-ers cant differentiate btwn K and k... (equilibrium constant vs rate constant) so 6K went back to Kindergarten that day and learnt how to write K and k. rmb to draw a rectangle first and then write K or k inside.. :) perhaps c-rep is not concerned with K and refuses to blog abt K..

After lunch, Supreme Dictator tied DK's jacket to his bottle.. nothing better to do, i guess.. DK was saying that Supreme Dictator was very HIGH that day.. pre-OSAP syndrome?? too excited abt leaving Singapore? funnily enough, DK couldnt untie the knot.. ended up tightening the knot :) in the end, SD had to help DK.. from this, we know that 解铃还需系铃人

other wacky stuff.. SD posting during math lecture... watching video as well, all thanks to Joel. Physics lecture, we saw Zhi Hui's very elaborate free body diagram.. even mrs loh was shocked. oh well, physics rep very pro.. have time to draw such detailed diagrams and get A for physics

that's abt all.. Yuting, Yongquan and Zhi Hui coming back this week.. Jian Hua and Langston flying off soon... have a safe flight and enjoy yourselves!!

Co-assistant-assistant CT Rep :)

Greetings from a land afar

Hey everyone,

Yeah I'm in Korea wooooooh! It has rained intermittently 4 times since this morning, jeopardizing any plans to explore the market street next to the university. How disappointing. (We played cards - tai-di and bluff - with the Israelites (the group from Israel) at the dormitory lobby instead.)

Lunch and dinner were rather appetising; the latter more so than the former. Regardless of time or season, you can always expect the ubiquitous kimchi to materialise on your plate...

The hostel is pretty cool - in a rather literal sense. At least Johnny Raincloud made some good use of his prolonged excursion over the sky today, providing us with some thermodynamic relief from Singapore's scorching heat wave.

I shall post pretty photos once I upload them. Which should be soon, hopefully!

And now for a special feature:

Trans-national Haiku
I'm in South Korea.

Land of preserved vegetables.

They call it kimchi.

Faux cheese cake

Once again, the tedious task of recollecting everyone’s happy memories of some historic class activity long passed falls to the dutiful hands of the Supreme Photo Uploader.

In order to mollify a certain individual who has, as of late, lingered almost daily on this blog, I shall deprive myself of another 30 minutes of sleep to satisfy your visual desires.

(Actually, I had intended to do this before 1am, but my ancient fossil-of-a-desktop would simply refuse to recognise my phone card. Well, not that my phone was particularly cooperative either as it appeared to have a penchant for oscillating between "phone mode" and "transfer mode"...)

Now just be a good audience and don't complain about the low-res pictures. (I told you to bring your cams... Well, only Jia Jun brought his, though as it turned out, there were no batteries -_-)

My mum just awoke from her slumber and reminded me to get some sleep. In view of such circumstances, there shall be no photo commentary for this post :(

Ed.: extra comments added by giant mollusc with lightsabers, Force perception and evil tendencies

"... I'm actually going to pummel [him] until he's nothing but a gelatinous mass. Then I'm going to chill him, and put fruit in him, and serve him as a dessert. That's gruesome. But tasty!" - A Ninja

I suppose coating oreo biscuit particles in melted butter makes it count as a colloidal dispersion of solid in liquid? Is the butter adsorbed onto the surface of the biscuit particles as well?

Hm. Biscuit bowl of scrying?

We are paying attention. Oh yes we are.
